In Ibiza, surgical interventions increased by 5.5%, from 6,452 in 2023 to 6,808 in 2024. Specialist consultations increased from 155,869 in 2023 to 156,917 in 2024, an increase of 0.6%.

These results are the result of the coordinated work of all professionals (not only healthcare professionals) involved in the management of waiting lists, including hospital and primary care managers, heads and coordinators of medical and surgical services, admission services and management and services professionals. In this respect, the increase in activity at public hospitals has led to a gradual reduction in waiting lists.

In addition, the Healthcare Directorate also highlights the work carried out by the hospital emergency services, which have collaborated with the operating theatres. In this sense, they have worked intensively, cooperating and enabling the objectives set to be achieved, which have had an impact on improving patient accessibility to healthcare resources, with excellent involvement and professionalism at times of great pressure on care.
