Participation in this fair, which begins today and ends on Wednesday, is at the request of the Balearic Islands’ wine sector, which wants to take advantage of the international showcase to boost exports of its wines.

A total of 20 wineries from the Balearic Islands are participating in Wine Paris 2025.

The Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Natural Environment, through the Directorate General for Agri-food Quality and Local Produce, is attending Wine Paris for the first time. This year’s edition takes place from today, 10 February, until Wednesday, 12 February, at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition centre. At this world showcase for the wine sector, the Regional Ministry has its stand measuring 116 square metres, which it has financed 90% of. A total of twenty wineries from the Balearic Islands are taking part, and their presence at the fair aims to promote their wines. On Monday, Joan Llabrés, the director general of Agri-food Quality and Local Produce, attended the fair to support the Balearic winemakers present at the fair. Llabrés emphasised ‘that our presence at this fair responds to a request from the sector, which had asked to have its own space to be able to publicise the wine produced in the Balearic Islands, not only in France, but also and principally in the rest of the European market’.

On behalf of the IGP Vi de la Terra de Mallorca, Bodegues Macià Batle, 7103 petit celler, Bodega Conde Fabrice de Suyrot, Bodega Son Vich de Superna, Ses Talaioles, Binigrau, Dalt Turó, Son Antem, Vinyes Mortitx, Castell Miquel. Representing the DO Binissalem are: Bodegas José L. Ferrer, Finca Biniagual, Ca’n Verdura Viticultors, Bodega Santa Catarina and Celler Can Fumat. The DO Pla i LLevant is represented by Vins Miquel Gelabert, Miquel Oliver, and Butxet. Vi de la Terra Eivissa will be represented by Can Rich, and the Vi de la Terra Illa Menorca winery that is coming to the fair is Sa Caterina.

The presence of these wineries at the fair will also serve, according to the Director General for Agri-food Quality and Local Produce, ‘to enable producers to expand the areas for marketing and, therefore, exporting wines from the Balearic Islands, both in the European market and on other continents’.

In this regard, it should be noted that the Wine Paris fair is an international benchmark for the wine sector, bringing together different profiles from the professional marketing chain, such as importers, distributors, wineries and specialised shops, as well as sommeliers and wholesalers, among others. The figures forecast for this edition exceed those of last year. This year there will be 4,600 exhibitors, 600 more than last year. There will also be an increase in the number of producing countries taking part in the show, which this year will number fifty, two more than in the 2024 edition. On the other hand, the organisers expect to receive 50,000 visitors – almost 10,000 more than last year – from 140 different countries.
