The Consell de Mallorca opens registrations for the conference on cybersecurity and social networks to young people

The police officer of the National Police Corps and cybercrime expert, José Díaz, together with the psychologists of the Official College of Psychology of the Balearic Islands, Mercedes Cimas and Shannon de Jesús, will analyse the dangers of using technology and the tools to prevent them.

The Consell de Mallorca is launching a new session of the ‘Mental Health in Youth’ programme with a more topical theme than ever: cybersecurity and social networks. The conference, which will take place on 19 February at the Official College of Doctors of the Balearic Islands from 18.00 to 19.45, will address the risks of the digital environment and its impact on the mental health of young people. The Consell de Mallorca is launching a new session of the ‘Mental Health in Youth’ programme with a more topical theme than ever: cybersecurity and social networks. The conference, which will take place on 19 February at the Official College of Doctors of the Balearic Islands from 18.00 to 19.45, will address the risks of the digital environment and its impact on the mental health of young people.

The island’s director of Youth and Participation, Carmen Ripoll, stressed that ‘in an era in which technology is an extension of everyday life, this talk will offer key tools to understand how to manage the use of social networks, prevent digital risks and promote a safe online environment’.

José Díaz López, a police officer from the National Police Force and cybercrime expert, will speak about the main dangers on the internet and how to protect oneself. Also participating will be psychologists Mercedes Cimas and Shannon de Jesús, from the Official College of Psychology of the Balearic Islands, who will explore the impact of the excessive use of technology.

The ‘Mental Health in Youth’ programme continues to be committed to opening spaces for debate and learning for families, teachers and professionals who accompany adolescents in their daily lives, offering them practical strategies to protect their emotional well-being in the digital age.
