The contract for the comprehensive maintenance of high-tech equipment for Son Espases has been approved
As a healthcare product and due to the nature of the equipment used to obtain medical images and/or perform interventional procedures, a comprehensive maintenance plan for this equipment is essential in order to be able to guarantee the portfolio of services of the Health Service and the healthcare services provided to the population attached to the Son Espases University Hospital and its associated centres.
Son Espases University Hospital is the reference hospital in the Balearic Islands. For this reason, it is the only health centre that has specific equipment for certain treatments and diagnostic procedures. Due to the nature of the equipment covered by this contract, it is essential to have a comprehensive maintenance plan in place, so that it is in operation for as long as possible and on a continuous basis, in order to minimise possible stoppages or performance limitations as a result of breakdowns.
On the other hand, the equipment installed in certain exploration rooms requires specific installation requirements, such as anchoring, specific air conditioning, power supply systems, etc. The maintenance of these systems or auxiliary equipment is included in the availability of the exploration rooms in order to ensure the operation of the equipment.
This comprehensive maintenance contract is intended to obtain the following benefits, aimed at clinical effectiveness, efficiency and patient safety:
To guarantee the continuity of the care processes that require the use of this electromedical equipment for their development.
Guarantee the adequate maintenance of each piece of equipment as determined by each manufacturer, to ensure the best state of conservation of parts, elements and components of main, auxiliary and peripheral equipment.
Maximise the availability of equipment, minimise downtime for any reason, especially for those with a high impact on critical care processes and facilitate the achievement of the functions and features that must be fulfilled and ensure their correct operation.
Maximise the useful life of the equipment in the best conditions.
