The aim is to improve the English language skills of the participants during the second half of April.
The Regional Ministry of Education and Universities has promoted two English language immersion programmes that will allow 108 students and 13 teachers of intermediate vocational training courses in the Balearic Islands to spend a free stay in Ireland. This initiative will take place during the second half of April and aims to improve the participants’ communicative competence in English.

A total of 121 VET students and teachers participate in free language immersion stays in Ireland
The programmes are aimed at students and teachers from centres that offer Foreign Language Reinforcement Plans in the field of vocational training. In total, there is a minimum of 121 places and a budget of 304,500 euros, financed by the European Union-NextGenerationEU in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (MRR).
The beneficiaries belong to different professional families, such as Hotel and Tourism, Commerce and Marketing, Administration and Management, maritime fisheries, Vehicle Transport and Maintenance, Electricity and Electronics, Health, IT and Communications, and Image and Sound. The places will be distributed territorially as follows: Mallorca will receive 85% of the grants, Menorca 5% and Eivissa and Formentera 10%.
The stays will take place during the Easter holidays and will combine academic and leisure activities, with a special emphasis on improving oral expression in English. The Regional Ministry is committed to promoting multilingualism as a tool to improve students’ employability and professional mobility in a globalised market.
