As for mobility, the Conselleria has organised various educational and awareness-raising activities on the importance of using different public transport, intermodality and the improvements they represent in terms of comfort and sustainability, both through the Directorate General of Mobility and the Transport Consortium of Mallorca and from Railway Services of Mallorca.

Within the framework of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the first Palma-Inca train journey, citizens will be able to enjoy a historical exhibition about the arrival of the railway and its future. Likewise, information about the whole interurban public transport network will be available.

On Saturday 1 March, all those who do not yet have the TIB transport card can obtain it at the information panel at the stand by presenting the corresponding documentation (information at tib.org). In addition, the train service on Saturday will be free for everyone. The Directorate General for Mobility’s marquee will also be hosting children’s activities and the game ‘Como se va’ (How to go), which will be used to participate in a prize draw.

The Cartographic and Geographic Institute of the Balearic Islands (ICGIB) has also organised an exhibition on cartography, with various cartographic maps to show the evolution of knowledge and representation of cartography both of the Islands and the world through different historical periods.

There will also be a map showing the relief of the Balearic Islands, as well as information on geodesic vertices and an extract from the work of the students of IES Santanyí, winners of the competition organised by the ICGIB to raise awareness of the history and importance of geodesic vertices.

The Cartographic and Geographic Institute of the Balearic Islands has also organised a geographic gymkhana for that Saturday, at 10:00 am, entitled ‘Walking around Palma’ for families (pre-registration on the website https://tn.caib.es/gimcanaib or on the same day at 9:00 am at the stand); and a drawing competition for children ‘Draw your Balearic Islands geographically’ with two categories (ages 6 to 8 and 9 to 12), which will end on Friday, 21st March.

Some of these workshops will take place during all the days of the exhibition in the Govern de les Illes Balears marquee, located next to the Parc de la Mar, and, specifically, two group workshops will be held on 2 March in the central marquee of the exhibition, related to the train, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
