These first visits to Manacor Hospital and Inca Hospital mark the start of a series of meetings aimed at promoting innovation and strengthening scientific cooperation in the Balearic Islands’ healthcare system.
The managing director of IdISBa, Carlos Enrique, and the scientific director, Antonia Barceló, visited the hospitals of Inca and Manacor to present the Institute and some of its main biomedical research projects. This initiative aims to generate synergies with these two hospitals, foster active collaboration and promote the involvement of healthcare staff in innovative research projects throughout the Balearic Islands.
The first meeting with healthcare staff took place on 27 February at Manacor Hospital and was repeated on 5 March at Inca Hospital. During these sessions, an active dialogue was established between research and healthcare professionals, with the aim of reinforcing the identity and role of IdISBa within the islands’ healthcare system.

IdISBa visits regional hospitals to strengthen collaboration in health research in the Balearic Islands
During the visits, the functioning of the IdISBa was presented, as well as the available resources and research support platforms. In addition, the main lines of research were highlighted and opportunities for participation in scientific studies were presented, to strengthen collaboration between the Institute and the hospitals visited.
Promoting research and collaboration
This initiative seeks to promote biomedical research throughout the hospital network of the autonomous community, encouraging the active participation of healthcare professionals from all hospitals. Through these visits, the aim is to broaden the areas of action in research, open up new lines of work and establish synergies with teams from different specialities.
IdISBa’s current initiatives have also been presented, and health professionals have been encouraged to participate actively and explore new collaborations that can benefit both the scientific community and the general population.
In conclusion, the visit to the hospitals of Inca and Manacor represents a key opportunity to strengthen the links between the IdISBa and the health system of the territory.
