All the representatives of the Government visited the stand of Red.es, the public business entity dependent on the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, where they met with its director general, Jesús Herrero.
In addition, the Director General of Digital Strategy and Technological Development, Xisco Cànovas, has held meetings with companies such as Telefónica, SIRT, Vodafone, Cellnex, Orange, Huawei and Dell to review common projects that are underway and study new forms of collaboration to continue enriching the Govern’s digital transformation strategy, as well as developing and improving the cybersecurity plan promoted by the regional executive with an investment of approximately 10 million euros.
Likewise, the manager of IB Digital, Miquel Cardona, met with the main partners for the Feder Funds project -Cellnex and Teltronic- and visited various exhibitors to see the latest developments in the world of the Internet of Things (IoT) to advance with the implementation of the Smart Territory in the Balearic Islands.
For his part, the Director General for Innovation, Sebastián González, has held several meetings with companies from the Balearic Association of Software, Internet and New Technology Companies (GSBit), some of which are based at ParcBit, and has visited the stand set up by Cellnex and the Consell de Mallorca.
On the other hand, the NTT stand hosted the presentation ‘Improving the service to citizens in emergencies in the Balearic Islands’, in which the Director General of Emergencies and Interior, Pablo Gárriz, explained the OnCall system, implemented by the Government last January to replace the CAD Storm, implemented in 1997 and which has become obsolete after twenty-eight years of service.
The new application, the implementation of which has involved an investment of 2.3 million euros, will multiply the efficiency of the 112 emergency telephone service, which will be able to answer calls more quickly, as they will receive information on the incident in a more organised way and will have more advanced tools to improve coordination and knowledge of each situation. ‘The simplification of the processes allows us to optimise the response time of the managers and guarantee a better response to citizens,’ said Gárriz.
Thanks to this system, according to the Director General of Emergencies, the 112 emergency room staff will be able to see all the emergencies managed in the Balearic Islands on an interactive map in real-time. In addition, to achieve a better location of communications, it integrates AML positioning services (advanced mobile location) and e-call (emergency call with emergency location from vehicles).
