The Consell de Mallorca and the German Embassy have reaffirmed their commitment to institutional collaboration to strengthen ties between the two communities and meet the needs of German residents on the island.

At a meeting held in Palma, the Councillor of the Presidency of the Consell de Mallorca received the German ambassador to Spain, Maria Margarete Gosse, with whom he discussed various areas of cooperation, from attention to the German resident community to coordination in the field of sustainable tourism.

The Consell de Mallorca and the German Embassy reinforce their institutional cooperation on the island

Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining fluid communication and effective cooperation between the institutions, facilitating the day-to-day management of German residents and promoting joint initiatives to benefit the island. The ambassador thanked the Consell de Mallorca and the German diplomatic representation for their joint work, underlining the desire to continue strengthening collaboration in different areas.

This meeting was held after the ITB in Berlin, one of the world’s leading tourism fairs, where the Consell de Mallorca presented its model of sustainability and accessibility. In this context, both institutions agreed on the need to continue promoting responsible tourism in line with the environmental and coexistence values shared by Mallorca and Germany.

The Minister stressed that the German market continues to be the main source of tourists to Mallorca, highlighting the loyalty and respect of German visitors for the island’s environment and culture. He also stressed the importance of strengthening dialogue with the German authorities in order to consolidate a stable and fruitful institutional relationship.

With this meeting, the Consell de Mallorca and the German Embassy reaffirm their commitment to continue working together for the benefit of the German resident and visiting community, as well as on strategic projects that strengthen the relationship between both parties.
