The Consell de Mallorca highlights female talent with the concert ‘Dones Compositores’ (‘Women Composers’)

The concert was given by the cello duo formed by Irene Laguna and Maria Biarge, two renowned performers who offer a unique musical experience, rescuing female compositions from the history of music.

The island’s Director of Families, Ana Ferriol, stresses the importance of this concert: ‘It is an opportunity to make the talent of women in music visible and to recognise their contribution as composers’. With this concert, ‘the Consell de Mallorca demonstrates its commitment to culture, equality and the visibility of female talent, on a CONFERENCE that invites reflection on the role of women in society’.

The event is part of the Consell de Mallorca’s special programme to commemorate the 8th of March, which includes nearly a hundred activities all over the island.
