The Consell de Mallorca approves a call for free technical cooperation for the development of municipal works

This call, offered by the Department of Economic Promotion and Local Development, aims to make the Department’s Technical Assistance Service available to all the municipalities of Mallorca to draw up projects and manage technical works at no cost to the municipal coffers.

All the town councils of Mallorca, as well as the minor local entity of Palmanyola, can be beneficiaries of this call, assessing their applications in relation to several criteria such as: the population, the minor economic capacity of the town council or the fact that it is the first time that it requests to the Consell de Mallorca a technical cooperation.

Each entity may apply for only one technical cooperation, either for the drafting of a project or for the direction of a work. Moreover, the Department stresses that the actions requested will not be limited by minimum or maximum amounts.

As explained by the councillor for Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate, this initiative aims to ‘continue collaborating with the municipalities in the development of the infrastructures necessary to improve the quality of life of Mallorcans, demonstrating, once again, our commitment to municipalism’.

‘We want to help local councils in the execution of works and projects that are important for the municipality but which, often, due to a lack of resources or personnel, they are unable to carry out,’ Amate explained about the new call for proposals that his department has opened.

Finally, and as a novelty, it should be noted that in this call all the drafted projects will follow an architectural style typical of the geographical area where they are to be executed, rescuing traditional techniques and materials, whenever technically possible.
