SAMU 061 has commemorated the 25th anniversary of its implementation in Menorca through the base that was installed in Ciutadella. The councillor of Health, Manuela García, accompanied by the director general of the Health Service, Javier Ureña, and the manager of SAMU 061, Eloy Villalba, presented badges of recognition to the professionals who have been with the service for 25 years. Pedro Marqués, a deceased colleague of SAMU 061, was also honoured.

SAMU 061 commemorates the 25th anniversary of the start of its activity in Menorca
SAMU 061 began operating in Menorca 25 years ago with a single ambulance, in Canal Salat, Ciutadella. Today SAMU 061 has seven vehicles, after the recent arrival of a rapid intervention vehicle and a logistical support vehicle. The human resources have also grown; in this sense, it has gone from five doctors, five nurses and eight health technicians to sixteen doctors, sixteen nurses and sixty technicians distributed, in shifts, in the three bases on the island.
