Craft market, free workshops and children’s activities in Sant Josep for the European Craft Days
Organised by the town council of San José in collaboration with the Consell, this Ibizan crafts market aims to offer visitors the chance to learn about traditional crafts, as well as the different artisan products of the island of Eivissa. As councillor Maria Fajarnés explained, ‘During this week you can enjoy activities that bring citizens closer to the sphere of artisan creation, in all those areas that have decided to join in and participate in this celebration’. The councillor explained that this type of action ‘helps to promote the long history of traditional crafts on our island, which currently have a wide repertoire of artisans, while also allowing us to contribute to the promotion of Eivissa as a tourist destination’.
For her part, Lourdes Marí stressed that ‘every weekend, Saturdays, from 5 April to 4 October, there will be children’s workshops to encourage family plans’. Marí detailed that ‘this is the ninth edition and has the participation of 49 artisan farmers, beekeepers and painters, among others, spread over 200 m2 of fair’.
The market will open at 09.30 in the morning and will remain open until 13.30. At 11 a.m. there will be an inauguration with a country dance by the Colla de Sant Josep. From 12:00 to 14:00 there will be a free floral decoration workshop, and from 11:30 the band La Calle will be playing live music.
