The Consell Insular de Menorca allocates 110,000 euros to Club Marítimo Mahón for the organisation of three regattas this 2025

The aim is to promote the tourism product ‘Menorca Illa de l’Esport’ through sporting events of great national and international media impact

The Executive Council of the Consell Insular de Menorca has approved this week the collaboration agreement between the island administration and the Club Marítimo de Mahón for the organisation of regattas during the year 2025.

The aim of this agreement is to promote the tourism product “Menorca Illa de l’Esport” through sporting events of great media impact at national and international levels.

The Department of the Presidency will allocate a nominative aid of 110,000 euros to the Club Marítimo de Mahón for the organisation of the following regattas, to be held between June and August 2025:

  • 20,000 euros will be granted to hold the Balearic ORC 2025 Championship, between the 6th and 8th of June.
  • 25,000 euros will be awarded for the celebration of the XXVI Regata Menorca Sant Joan (Trofeo Alfonso XIII), between the 19th and 21st of June.
  • 70,000 euros will be awarded for the celebration of the XXI Copa del Rey de Barcos de Epoca (Classic Sailing), between 26th and 30th August.
  • The public interest of these regattas lies in the potential media impact, both nationally and internationally, for the promotion of tourism in Menorca. Furthermore, its celebration is compatible with respect for the environment and will generate a direct economic impact on the island’s economy.
