Above-average rainfall and warm temperatures set the trend for the month
March ended with water reserves at 52% in the Balearic Islands, an increase of one point over the previous month (51%), although still lower than the figure recorded in the same period last year (56%).
By islands, Mallorca rose from 52% to 53%, Menorca remained at 51% and Eivissa experienced a notable increase from 34% to 39%. The overall situation of the Balearic Islands (52%) remains, however, below the levels recorded a year ago (56%).

Water reserves rose by one point in March to 52% in the Balearic Islands
The evolution of reserves has led to changes in the drought management scenarios. Eight Demand Units (DU) have improved their indices: Menorca, Artà, Manacor-Felanitx, es Pla, Palma-Alcúdia, Tramuntana Sud, Eivissa and Formentera. Two UD (Migjorn and Tramuntana Nord) have experienced a slight decrease. In this context, the UD es Pla has passed to the pre-alert scenario.
Thus, 17.6% of the territory (the UD Tramuntana Nord, Tramuntana Sud and Formentera) is currently in a normal situation, while 82.4% of the territory (the UD Menorca, Artà, Manacor-Felanitx, Migjorn, es Pla, Palma-Alcúdia and Eivissa) remains in pre-alert. There are no UDs in a state of alert.
Globally, the index of the Hydrographic Demarcation (0.478) is still below the value recorded one year ago.
