These actions are already operational and will reinforce the plant’s capacity to cope with the demand during the high season, especially with regard to the transport of water by tanker trucks.

In addition, the authorities reviewed various technical aspects of the purification process and discussed the next steps in the purified water reclamation project planned for this same facility. This new plant will make it possible to reuse the treated water for urban purposes in the surrounding municipalities.

The action, promoted by the Regional Ministry of the Sea and Water Cycle, has been accepted for financing with funds from the Sustainable Tourism Tax. The public company ABAQUA will draw up the technical project in the coming weeks, once the corresponding agreement to regulate its use and exploitation has been signed with the town councils involved.
