The Consell Insular de Menorca has received the project for the slope stabilisation works on the Son Bou road, specifically between kilometre point 1+150 and 1+470.
The works have been executed by the company Silex Vertical, with an award budget of 164,965.22 euros, VAT included. The director of the works was the civil engineer Alberto Correa, who drafted the addendum updating the construction project.
“We continue to modernise Menorca’s roads. We said that one of the main objectives of our mandate is to make the island’s roads safer, including secondary roads, after years of almost no investment. And we are fulfilling it,” explained the president of the Consell Insular de Menorca, Adolfo Vilafranca.

These improvements have involved the stabilisation of the slope on the west side of the road, with a previous cleaning of the same. In addition, mesh and cables have been installed to contain possible landslides, and a guard and drainage ditch has been built to facilitate the drainage of water at the top of the slope.
‘During the execution of the works, archaeological monitoring has been carried out to ensure that no elements listed by the Heritage Department of the CIM near the area of action are affected’,
