The centre was designed to house nursery and primary education, and from 2022, it will begin to incorporate secondary studies.
This extension will allow the rest of the secondary schools in the municipality to be decongested.
The Consell de Govern of today, 4 April 2025, has approved the declaration of investment of autonomic interest of the extension works of the CEIPIESO Ponent. This extension aims to guarantee an adequate educational offer, improve the quality of teaching and ensure optimal learning conditions. This action will also make it possible to absorb the growing demand for schooling and will contribute to a more balanced distribution of students in the municipality’s schools, relieving congestion in other secondary schools in Inca.
Initially designed for nursery and primary education, CEIPIESO Ponent began an expansion process at the end of 2022 to gradually incorporate compulsory secondary education and respond to the increase in demand.

Expansion work on the CEIPIESO Ponent, in Inca, declared to be of regional interest
Despite the minor works and the restructuring of spaces that have made it possible to accommodate the offer of 1st ESO without modular classrooms, the centre’s capacity has reached its limit. In fact, for the 2025-2026 school year, the installation of two modular classrooms is planned until the extension work is completed.
At present, CEIPIESO Ponent has 22 authorised units and 570 school places: 6 units (150 places) for infant education; 12 units (300 places) for primary education, and 4 units (120 places) for secondary education.
The extension of the centre is planned to increase the number of secondary school places. The extension will be developed on the ground floor and first floor. Among other improvements, it will have 8 ESO classrooms (two lines), specific classrooms for music and plastic arts, 1 technology workshop, 1 science laboratory, 1 reinforcement classroom, 1 classroom, library and offices.
In total, there will be a new usable surface area of 1,552.04 m². Thus, the number of places for ESO students will be increased by 240.
