Spanish goods exports increased by 0.4% year-on-year in February, reaching €31.97 billion, marking the second-highest February value ever recorded, according to the Monthly Foreign Trade Report published by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise.
This growth contrasts with declines seen in other major EU economies, such as Germany (-1.8%) and France (-4.3%). Outside the EU, notable export increases were recorded in the UK (+18.7%) and Japan (+11.4%).

Spanish Exports Reach €31.97 Billion in February, Up 0.4% Year-on-Year
Imports also rose by 3.5%, totalling €35.4 billion, the second-highest value for February. Spain maintained a trade surplus with the EU of €2.17 billion, a trend sustained since 2017.
By sector, strong trade surpluses were reported in food, beverages and tobacco (€1.86 billion), non-chemical semi-manufactures (€676 million), and the automotive sector (€505 million). February also saw record monthly export levels in food products, raw materials, and durable consumer goods.
In the year-to-date through February, exports totalled €61.75 billion, with the Balearic Islands (+28.4%) leading regional export growth. The number of regular exporters increased by 1.1%, reaching 36,298, accounting for 96.5% of total exports.
