Ibiza Begins Construction of New Waste Transfer Plant with €2.5 Million Investment
According to Environmental Management Councillor Ignacio Andrés Roselló, the current facility, in operation since 2003, has become outdated due to a 671% increase in waste volume, rising from 2,778 to over 21,400 tonnes annually by 2024.
During the works, temporary transfer stations have been set up in the Montecristo industrial estate: one for glass at Fusters Street, 8, and another for paper-cardboard at Des Mayans Street, 5. The transfer services have been awarded to Ca na Negreta S.A., with a maximum allocated budget of over €940,000.
