PortsIB Awards Management of New Docks in Fornells Port to Five Menorcan Companies
In total, 13 companies submitted bids in the public tender, which was announced on January 22 and published both on the Public Sector Contracting Platform and in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands.
After technical and economic evaluation of the proposals and resolution of procedural issues, the Evaluation Committee recommended awarding the contracts to the five companies that received the highest scores in each lot.
The project aims to strengthen and energise nautical and tourism activity in Fornells through the management of approximately 300 berths distributed across five docks. The contracts will last for four years and include a commitment to provide high-quality services to users, including electricity and water supply, as well as the promotion of electric, sailing, and traditional boats.
In addition, PortsIB is scheduled to take delivery of the newly installed docks tomorrow, as construction has already been completed. This development marks an important step forward in modernising the port of Fornells, adapting it to the sector’s evolving needs, and enhancing port infrastructure for both residents and visitors.
With the awarding of management to local companies and the completion of the works, PortsIB reaffirms its commitment to promoting sustainable boating and boosting the economy through improvements to its ports.
