The Conselleria of Families and Social Affairs of the Balearic Islands, through the Directorate General for Children, Youth, Families, Equality, and Diversity, has announced a comprehensive program to commemorate the International Day of Families on May 15, 2025. The events, running until May 26, aim to support families, promote intergenerational coexistence, address adolescence, facilitate work-life balance, and include activities for children.
The program kicks off on May 15 with a conference by Laura Baena of the Club Malasmadres titled “Soy malamadre, ¿y qué?” (“I’m a Bad Mother, So What?”). Baena will share her personal experiences and advocate for a more sustainable society that supports mothers. The event will also feature a workshop led by sociologist Maite Egoscozabal from the “Yo no renuncio” association, focusing on shared responsibility in domestic and family tasks.
