The winners will represent the Balearic Islands at the SpainSkills competition, which will take place in Madrid next year.
From today, various educational centres across the Balearic Islands are hosting the 10th edition of the Balearskills competition, a vocational training event aimed at students from different specialisations. This edition features 114 students from 41 schools.
To mark the occasion, the Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, and the Director General of Vocational Training and Educational Planning, Maria Isabel Salas, visited the Integrated Vocational Training Centre (CIFP) Juníper Serra in Palma to support the students participating in the skills tests for Cooking, Restaurant and Bar Service, Bakery, and Hotel Reception.

A total of 114 students from 41 schools take part in the 10th edition of Balearskills
With Balearskills, the Ministry of Education and Universities reaffirms its commitment to promoting and raising awareness of vocational training, while also boosting these studies, motivating students, and recognising the efforts of both students and teachers.
The Balearskills 2025 competition began yesterday, Monday, and will run until 14 May. The 114 participants will compete in 21 different categories—five more than in the previous edition. The competition areas are: Cooking, Restaurant and Bar Service, Bakery, Hotel Reception, Car Body Repair, Automotive Technology, Car Painting, Renewable Energy, Floristry, Landscape Gardening, Wall and Floor Tiling, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Health and Social Care, Pharmacy and Parapharmacy, Web Development, Network Systems Administration, Visual Merchandising, Plumbing and Heating, Electrical Installations, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
The tests are being held in several venues: CIFP Pau Casesnoves in Inca, CIFP Joan Taix in Sa Pobla, CIFP Borja Moll in Palma, CIFP Politécnic de Llevant in Manacor, the Canal Salat Multifunctional Hall in Ciutadella, and CIFP Juníper Serra in Palma.
The medal awards ceremony is scheduled for 16 May at the Peguera Auditorium. The winners will represent the Balearic Islands at the next edition of SpainSkills, which brings together the top vocational students from all the Spanish autonomous communities and will be held in Madrid in 2026.
