The restoration works are being carried out using traditional dry-stone walling techniques, allowing for the recovery of the esplanade from which visitors can enjoy a privileged panoramic view.
The Second Vice President and Councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs, and Sports, Pedro Bestard, visited the restoration works at the Na Miranda viewpoint, located in the Sa Dragonera Natural Park. The viewpoint has been closed to the public for over three years due to safety concerns, as its structure did not guarantee secure access for visitors.
The works involve the restoration of the walls and the levelling of the ground to recover the esplanade used as a viewpoint, from which one can enjoy spectacular views of Sant Elm and Mallorca.

Councillor Bestard Visits the Restoration Works of the Na Miranda Viewpoint in Sa Dragonera
Pedro Bestard, accompanied by the Island Director for the Environment, Luis Rubí, expressed his satisfaction, stating that “in a very short time, we will be able to reopen a viewpoint that has been closed for over three years.”
The restoration is being carried out using traditional dry-stone walling techniques and local materials, ensuring that the structure is fully integrated into the landscape. In this regard, Councillor Bestard highlighted that “all visitors to Sa Dragonera will be able to enjoy stunning views from a viewpoint built with traditional dry-stone techniques, in perfect harmony with the environment and showcasing our rich heritage.”
The restoration and consolidation project for the Na Miranda viewpoint involved an investment of €10,100 and is being executed by the Environment Department’s team of masons.
Na Miranda Trail
The excursion to the Na Miranda viewpoint is the only circular and shortest route available on Sa Dragonera, spanning a 1.1 km loop that can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. Along the way, hikers can observe the old farming areas surrounding Cala En Lledó, which are currently being cultivated to preserve agricultural zones and promote habitat transition areas on the island.
The route includes a picnic area surrounded by nature, and the Na Miranda viewpoint, from which one can admire a panoramic view of the Freu and the Sant Elm coast. This trail is an ideal option for a short family hike during the warmer months of the year.
