By attending the concert, President Prohens aimed to express institutional support for the artistic talent of the Balearic Islands and its international projection. This marks another step toward strengthening the OSIB’s status and image as the region’s leading cultural institution.
The Symphony Orchestra, joined by Davide Cabassi—one of Italy’s most renowned pianists—performed a program of Spanish music: the Prelude from the zarzuela El tambor de granaderos by Ruperto Chapí, and several works by Manuel de Falla, including the Interlude and Dance from La vida breve, two suites from the ballet El sombrero de tres picos, and Nights in the Gardens of Spain (Noches en los jardines de España).
