The Consell Insular de Menorca Renews Collaboration Agreement with the Red Cross to Launch an Informational Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence
The purpose of this agreement is to coordinate and manage the “Punt Lila” (Purple Point) information stands, which are dedicated to preventing gender-based and LGBT-phobic violence during the island’s traditional festivals, and, additionally, during other events jointly agreed upon by both parties.
This initiative, which has been in place since 2018, is designed as a tool for prevention, awareness, information, and on-site detection of various forms of gender-based and LGBT-phobic violence.
Through this agreement, the Department of Social Welfare is granting the Red Cross a total of €20,000 to cover eligible expenses, including:
- Salaries for specialised staff directly involved in carrying out the agreement
- Travel and per diem expenses linked to campaign activities
- Awareness and prevention materials, such as flyers, pins, banners, etc.
- Other complementary costs directly related to the objectives of the agreement (e.g., equipment rental, phone, communication expenses)
