The Ministry of Education and Universities has initiated the tendering process for the repair works on the roofs, porches, and porticoes of the courtyard at IES Guillem Cifre de Colonya, located in the municipality of Pollença. The initial tender budget is €277,322.85, and the expected completion time for the works is four months.

Education Department Puts Out to Tender Improvement Works for the Playground of Guillem Cifre de Colonya High School in Pollença

According to the technical supervision report, the project includes the renovation of the existing porches in the school’s courtyards. Part of these structures will be repaired and re-waterproofed to prevent future corrosion, while the sections deemed not viable for repair will be demolished.

Additionally, the project will include the demolition of a cantilevered structure showing structural issues, the repair of the roof’s waterproofing, and the replacement of the current metal joinery.

These works aim to ensure the safety and functionality of the school’s outdoor spaces.

The improvement works at IES Guillem Cifre de Colonya are part of the “Illes en Transformació” initiative, promoted by the Government of the Balearic Islands. This initiative focuses on strengthening public infrastructure, with special attention to the education sector. It represents a firm commitment to providing more dignified, modern, and needs-adapted educational environments.
