To mark International LGTBI Pride Day, celebrated on June 28, the Government of the Balearic Islands has raised the rainbow flag on its official buildings as a firm symbol of support for equality, diversity, and the rights of the LGTBI community.

The Balearic Government Reaffirms Its Commitment to LGBTI Rights Ahead of June 28

Through this symbolic gesture, the Government seeks to highlight its ongoing commitment to a pluralistic, inclusive society free from discrimination, and to reaffirm its determination to continue actively defending the rights of LGTBI individuals.

The regional executive maintains a clear position of zero tolerance towards any form of violence, discrimination, or hate based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The Govern reiterates its pledge to provide comprehensive protection for the LGTBI community and to effectively promote equal rights, opportunities, and treatment for all individuals, regardless of their identity or orientation.

Furthermore, the Government expresses its continued willingness to collaborate closely with organisations and civil society groups that work to defend LGTBI rights, with the shared goal of building a fairer, more equal, and fully human rights–respecting society.
