Acampaesport, the sports camp program for children and teenagers organised by the Consell de Mallorca, is now underway and is one of the most in-demand programs from the Sports Department. This season, a total of 1,540 boys and girls will participate over eleven sessions, running from June 22 to September 6, in a year dedicated to sea-based sports.
Today, the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés; the Second Vice President and Minister of Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard; and the Mayor of the Artà Town Council, Manuel Galán, visited the first group of participants in Acampaesport, accompanying them during some of the sea-based activities.

Galmés emphasised that “this is a dynamic camp, packed with activities, and the only one in Mallorca offering such an ambitious aquatic program. That’s why the 2025 theme is the sea—paying tribute to the most cherished childhood memories shared with friends.”
Bestard also highlighted that “the Consell allocates 50% of the weekly capacity for teenagers—a group that has limited options but a strong desire to participate.”
The participants engage in daily physical activities surrounded by both sea and mountains in the Colònia de Sant Pere, Artà. This year, under the marine sports theme, they will try new activities and games such as big paddle, diving introductions, underwater photography, and a scavenger hunt-style workshop called “Cerca els peixos” (“Find the Fish”), in addition to kayaking and snorkelling.
Over seven days, children take part in up to 20 activities, divided by age group and led by qualified instructors. The packed schedule includes both individual and team sports—handball, basketball, hockey, tennis, etc., as well as adventure activities like mountain biking, scooter rides, and gincanas. The Consell de Mallorca also reserves 2% of the total places for children with special needs and varying levels of dependency.
Lastly, Acampaesport continues its anthropometric study of participants born between 2012 and 2016, a project started in 2024. This initiative will provide valuable insight into the physical fitness of Mallorca’s school-age population to help design targeted nutritional programs.
