This kind of initiative is essential to support local businesses, which are the economic and social backbone of the town. Shopping Night allows shop owners to showcase their products in a festive setting, build customer loyalty, and attract new clientele. It also strengthens the proximity economy, encourages responsible consumption, and highlights the warm and personal service that small businesses offer.

Moreover, the event brings neighbours into the streets, revitalises the historic centre, and draws in visitors from surrounding towns, generating economic activity that benefits everyone. In this way, the town is brought to life, public space is energised, and Binissalem’s local identity is strengthened.

As part of the evening, Binissalem’s mayor, Víctor Martí, extends a special invitation to enjoy not only the shopping but also the town’s authentic and delicious local cuisine. “Shopping Night is also a wonderful chance to sit on our terraces, experience the hospitality of our bars and restaurants, and savour dishes prepared with that special touch that makes Binissalem unique,” he said.

Among the local specialities on offer that evening will be Mallorcan frito with local produce, homemade vegetable cocas, oven-roasted suckling pig, traditional snails, and homemade panades. All are prepared using time-honoured recipes and local ingredients, and will be available in many of the town’s bars, cellers, and restaurants participating in the event.

And to accompany it all, nothing pairs better than a glass of Binissalem’s own Denomination of Origin wines. Fresh whites, light rosés, or full-bodied reds from local wineries will provide the perfect complement to a night that celebrates the best of Binissalem: its people, its commerce, its culture, and, of course, its flavours.

The patron saint festivities of Binissalem are a symbol of identity and pride for its residents, especially during the celebration of Saint James. They offer a chance to reunite with family and friends, strengthening social ties within the village. Through traditions such as the Correfoc, the Vermar (grape harvest festival), and local races, the community expresses its living culture and history. For both young and old, these are days filled with joy, music, togetherness, and strong collective participation. In addition to fostering a sense of belonging, the festivities also boost the local economy by attracting visitors from all around.
