The application process opens on Monday
The Health Service will open the application process for the simplified professional career scheme for the 2023–2025 period, allowing professionals to join the scheme or advance to a higher level.
The Government of the Balearic Islands reactivated the professional career system in August 2024 by launching the call for the extraordinary career process of the Health Service, which had been frozen since 2018.
The new 2023–2025 Professional Career Agreement provides for a simplified process to obtain recognition for the first level of the professional career or to advance to the next level. In this call, in addition to professional experience, merits in training, teaching, and research will also be assessed.

The Health Service Opens the Call for the Simplified Professional Career Procedure 2023–2025
The opening of this process has been made possible after the first part of the Sectoral Board Agreement was implemented, which established the payment of arrears to Health Service professionals—both those who already have a recognised career level and those who obtain recognition for the first time—for the extraordinary 2018–2022 period. In December, two years’ worth of arrears had already been paid.
This extraordinary recognition of historical debt, which assessed the services rendered, represents an expenditure of €133.5 million.
The overall Professional Career Agreement will involve a total payment of €189.9 million. Of this amount, €149.8 million corresponds to arrears generated during the 2018–2024 period, while the remaining €40.1 million relates to the reactivation of the career system.
Currently, 9,648 professionals in the Health Service have a recognised professional career level.
