The Consell de Mallorca’s summer activity program for young people and municipalities begins this July, featuring various water-based sports such as a kayak excursion with a group from the Marratxí Town Council.
The “Activitats d’estiu 2025” program is now underway, promoting predominantly aquatic sports. Today, a group of around fifty people from the Marratxí municipality took part in a two-hour kayaking activity in La Victòria, Alcúdia. Guided by instructors, participants engaged in family exercise, learned coordination and technique, and enjoyed the coastal landscape of the area.

Consell de Mallorca Promotes Summer Sports Activities with Family Kayak Outings in Alcúdia
The second vice president and Minister of Environment, Rural Affairs, and Sports of the Consell de Mallorca accompanied the group to experience the activity firsthand and emphasised that “the Consell promotes group sports like kayaking, coasteering, or paddle surfing as a way to encourage both physical activity and community building.” He added, “We have increased the budget and number of hours for these activities to allow for broader community participation.” The program is expected to reach more than 3,000 people during the summer of 2025.
Activities can be requested by municipalities in a group format and coordinated with the Consell de Mallorca. This program complements other initiatives that local councils manage jointly with the institution, such as values-based talks, “Fairs and Festivities” events, and the Mou-te amb salut! program, the latter aimed at seniors.
New Activity Block for Youth and Teenagers in 2025
The “Activitats d’estiu 2025” program includes nine featured experiences: scuba diving initiation, water biking, dragon boating, coasteering (hiking along rugged sea-edge trails), kayaking, paddle surfing, hiking, and snorkelling. The program offers two modes of participation: organised group activities through municipalities to promote sports among residents, and direct applications by young people who wish to participate independently.
