The project stems from the 2024 Art Jove Award, which Alorda won with the short documentary Guaret, and included €7,000 to produce a new work
In addition to Els dos pous and Guaret, Cineciutat will also screen a music video by Pere Andreo, directed by Alorda, followed by a performance by the singer-songwriter
On Friday, July 11, the Balearic Youth Institute (IBJOVE) will premiere the short film Els dos pous by Josep Alorda Roca at Cineciutat in Palma, in an evening that will also showcase other works by the Mallorcan filmmaker. Els dos pous, filmed in the family stable and starring his father, was created following the 2024 Art Jove Short Film Award, which Alorda won with the domestic cinema-style documentary short Guaret. The award included €3,000 in prize money and an additional €7,000 to fund a new short film, which has materialised in this new work. Els dos pous delves into themes such as memory, loss, and persistence, from a personal and contemplative perspective.
