The Island Council of Menorca Supports the Spanish Red Cross on the 150th Anniversary of Its Presence in the Balearic Islands

The Spanish Red Cross, founded on July 6, 1864, following the Geneva International Conference of 1863, is a voluntary humanitarian institution of public interest that operates under the protection of the Spanish State via the Council of Protection. The organisation established its presence in the Balearic Islands in 1874, marking 150 years of humanitarian service.

This collaboration reflects the Island Council of Menorca’s commitment to the core values of solidarity, volunteerism, and public service represented by the Spanish Red Cross. Supporting this anniversary not only highlights the organisation’s long-standing contribution to society but also reinforces ties with institutions working to serve the people of Menorca every day.
