The ADR Balears program of the Ministry of Business, Self-Employed Workers, and Energy has created a training channel to update and support the industry in facing environmental challenges.
Workshops and seminars have been organised on circular economy, energy efficiency, digitalisation, and sustainable production.
A total of 77 industrial companies have received sustainability training and learned about upcoming challenges in the field thanks to courses organised under the Industria Local Sostenible (Sustainable Local Industry) program, led by the Balearic Islands Regional Development Agency (ADR Balears) of the Ministry of Business, Self-Employed Workers, and Energy.

Around 80 Companies in the Balearic Islands Receive Sustainability Training Through the “Industria Local Sostenible” Quality Mark
At the beginning of the year, Industria Local Sostenible launched a training channel to update and support industrial companies on their path towards sustainability. In the first six months, workshops and seminars were held on circular economy, energy efficiency, digitalization, and sustainable production, attended by more than 200 people from various sectors such as waste collection, treatment, and disposal; chemicals; food; leather and footwear; textiles; wood and cork; the nautical and tourism industries; as well as representatives from public administration and consultancy firms, among others.
These training sessions provide updates on environmental regulations, best practices, and innovations. Each session combines practical case studies, digital tools, and expert knowledge to equip companies with reproducible strategies—from calculating and reducing their carbon footprint to eco-designing packaging and improving energy efficiency—so they can apply them immediately.
The ILS quality mark, committed to promoting a more sustainable industry in the Balearic Islands, identifies and recognises industrial companies that commit to reducing their carbon footprint and improving environmental sustainability.
Currently, 47 companies are affiliated with the mark, which offers them benefits such as advantages in grant calls from the Directorate General for Industry and Industrial Estates and from ADR Balears, as well as visibility through the website www.industrialocalsostenible.es, where the public can learn about the companies committed to the territory and its conservation.
