The emblematic Raixa estate hosted the final event of its summer music series this Saturday, featuring the Marratxí Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Pep Corbalán Llabrés. Their performance concluded the 2025 edition of Nits d’estiu, delighting the audience with the passion and skill of young musicians aged between 15 and 23.

The program was designed to appeal to a wide audience, including arrangements of Miguel Ríos’ Bienvenidos, David Bowie’s Starman, Hans Zimmer’s Pearl Harbour theme, as well as works by Ferrer Ferran performed by the youngest members of the orchestra, Joan and Bel.

Among the attendees were the Balearic Vice-President and Minister for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, the Minister for Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate, and the Island Director for Environment, Luis Rubí. Bestard praised the orchestra’s high level of performance: “The Marratxí Youth Symphony Orchestra has offered an extraordinary concert, with a diverse and high-quality repertoire that captivated the audience.”

Created in 2014 out of the Obrador de Músics school, the orchestra has steadily grown and consolidated its presence, performing numerous concerts across Mallorca.

The «Nits d’estiu» series attracted more than 1,500 people this summer, with all five concerts reaching full capacity. Authorities highlighted the cultural and social value of opening Raixa and its historic gardens to the public, providing a unique setting for music and heritage.

As a novelty this year, the program also promoted local products, offering tastings of quality-certified Mallorcan wines and canapés prepared with local ingredients—an initiative warmly received by the public.
