The Balearic Government meets with APAIB representatives to address current challenges of the audiovisual industry

On Monday, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà, chaired a meeting between the Government of the Balearic Islands and the Association of Producers of the Balearic Islands (APAIB). The session mainly focused on identifying the sector’s current priorities and reviewing the achievements of the first two years of the current legislature.

Bauzà emphasised “the importance of joining public and private efforts to promote a strategic industry for the autonomous territory,” while also highlighting “the collaborative attitude of APAIB, a key player in the development of the audiovisual sector.”

APAIB president, Kiko Domínguez, expressed his satisfaction with “the Government’s receptiveness” and expressed gratitude for “the continuity of a productive dialogue for the cultural sector,” while stressing the organisation’s satisfaction with the minister’s commitment to increasing calls for projects.

The APAIB also presented its aspirations for 2026. The meeting included the association’s manager, Marta Hierro, and board member Montserrat Rodríguez. On behalf of the Balearic Government, the Secretary of Culture and Sports, Pedro Vidal, and the Managing Director of the Institute of Cultural Industries of the Balearic Islands, Diana de la Cuadra, also attended.
