A group of students from a school in Zurich, Switzerland, visited the Tourism Department of Mallorca, located in La Misericordia, this week to learn firsthand about the island’s tourism policies and management.
The students were welcomed by Tourism Minister José Marcial Rodríguez, who held a meeting with them to explain the department’s operations and answer their questions about Mallorca’s tourism model. The visitors showed particular interest in topics such as job creation, the economic benefits of tourism, and the social challenges it presents, including access to housing and the strain on public services.

The delegation, made up of three students and a teacher, is part of an educational program focused on international tourism management. This marks the second visit by foreign students to the department’s new offices, following a previous visit by students from Copenhagen, Denmark.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and perspectives while exploring the significance of the Swiss tourism market in Mallorca and reviewing the current tourist season’s progress on the island.
