The documentary “Sacar pecho”, a Mallorcan production filmed in the Serra de Tramuntana and shortlisted for the Goya Awards in the Best Documentary category, was presented at the Spanish Congress of Deputies on the occasion of World Breast Cancer Day, held each year on October 19.

The film follows the journey of eight women who have battled or are living with breast cancer as they trek through the Serra de Tramuntana. Through breathtaking landscapes and the emotional bonds formed among the participants, the documentary portrays how nature and collective strength can become tools for healing, courage, and hope.

The route, stretching from Andratx to Pollença, serves as a metaphor for the personal journey of those facing cancer — a path marked by pain, fear, and uncertainty, but also by resilience, solidarity, and empowerment. The project was made possible with the support of the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium and was co-financed by public institutions in Mallorca.

During the presentation, Llorenç Galmés praised the film’s emotional depth, stating that “‘Sacar pecho’ showcases the incredible talent of Mallorca’s creators and conveys an essential message of empathy, courage, and hope for all women affected by this disease.”

Previously premiered at the Teatre Principal in Palma, the documentary has been widely acclaimed for its human approach and its ability to transform a story of illness into a celebration of strength, unity, and life.
