Sa Bastida estate in Alaró to be purchased for up to €1.5 million
This purchase is part of the government’s commitment to protect and preserve the natural heritage of the archipelago. In recent years, other valuable estates have been acquired, such as Son Jaumell in Capdepera and Cala Torta, Cala Mitjana and Cala Estreta in Artà, covering a combined area of 583.9 hectares. These publicly owned lands are located in highly protected areas like the Natura 2000 Network and the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park, and include the Cap des Freu Nature Reserve, home to species such as the osprey and the European shag.
The acquisition of Sa Bastida forms part of a broader strategy to expand publicly owned lands and ensure the responsible use of natural spaces for the benefit of citizens while preserving the biodiversity of the Balearic Islands. The government intends to continue acquiring new environmentally valuable properties in the coming years.
