The Camp d’Aprenentatge de Binifaldó marked its 40th anniversary today with a ceremony that reaffirmed the Balearic Government’s dedication to environmental education. The Ministries of Education and Universities and Agriculture, Fishing, and Natural Environment renewed their collaborative agreement to ensure the continued success of this pioneering project.

The event, held in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, was attended by regional ministers Antoni Vera and Joan Simonet, along with officials from the Balearic Institute for Nature (IBANAT) and educational representatives. They highlighted Binifaldó’s longstanding role as a leading outdoor educational centre where thousands of students have learned to appreciate and protect their natural surroundings since 1985.

“Binifaldó is more than a place—it’s a living classroom that teaches us the most important lesson of all: to cherish our environment,” stated officials, underlining their shared commitment to advancing environmental awareness and sustainability through education.

For four decades, Binifaldó has been a hub for hands-on learning, environmental awareness, and school-based initiatives focused on preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Serra de Tramuntana.
