The Government of the Balearic Islands has launched the application period for the 2025 rental assistance programme, which will remain open until 15 December.
All details about the new call and access to the online application platform are available at ajudeslloguer.caib.es, where applicants can also book an in-person appointment for guidance if needed.

These subsidies, set by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, cover up to 50% of the monthly rent for homes costing €900 or less. The regional Government has repeatedly called for this ceiling to be raised, arguing that the current limit does not reflect the real rental prices in the Balearic Islands and leaves many households without support.

Government opens applications for the 2025 rental assistance programme, available until 15 December

The 2025 programme has a total budget of €9.3 million, of which €7.1 million comes from the State Housing Plan and €2.2 million from the regional government’s own funds.

Income thresholds

The maximum income levels remain unchanged. As a general rule, household income cannot exceed €25,200 per year (three times the IPREM).
Higher limits apply in certain cases:

  • €33,600 (four times the IPREM) for general large families, people with disabilities or victims of terrorism.
  • €42,000 (five times the IPREM) for special large families, people with disabilities of 33% or more, or victims of gender-based violence.

Main requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold a valid rental contract.
  • Use the rented property as their habitual residence.
  • Have Spanish nationality or legal residency.
  • Be up to date with rental payments.
  • Meet the income limits and ensure the rent does not exceed €900 per month.

This assistance cannot be combined with other rental support measures from the 2022–2025 State Housing Plan or similar programmes from other public administrations, except in specific cases such as victims of gender-based violence, trafficking, sexual violence, evictions, homelessness, people in situations of special vulnerability, recipients of non-contributory pensions or beneficiaries of the minimum vital income.
