The town of Inca has unveiled a new urban space with the opening of Plaça Antoni Pons, located between Avinguda d’Alcúdia and Carrer dels Jocs. The square features green areas and children’s playgrounds and has been designed as an open and welcoming meeting point for residents and families.
The inauguration will be marked by a festive programme, including entertainment activities for children and families, followed by an official ceremony attended by the Mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno, members of the municipal council and relatives of Antoni Pons.
This new public space pays tribute to Antoni Pons Sastre (1919–1998), former mayor of Inca and a prominent figure in Mallorca’s cultural, political and media landscape.
