The Government of the Balearic Islands has presented the printed edition of the winning stories from the third Children’s Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Story Contest, an initiative designed to foster emotional education from an early age and promote a stigma-free understanding of mental health.

Aimed at children aged 6 to 8, the published stories form part of a broader educational and social strategy that uses children’s literature as a tool to encourage emotional awareness and psychological well-being. The initiative combines literary creativity, artistic illustration and social engagement, highlighting the educational value of storytelling.

The presentation of the books coincided with the opening of an illustration exhibition created by students of higher artistic education, reflecting strong collaboration between the education, culture and health sectors. One thousand copies per category have been published and will be distributed across public libraries and primary schools throughout the Balearic Islands.

Through this initiative, the regional government strengthens its commitment to emotional well-being, stigma prevention and the integration of mental health education into learning environments, contributing to a more inclusive and emotionally aware society.
