The Department of Education and Universities has launched the public tender process for the expansion works of CEIP Sant Carles, a primary school located in Santa Eulària des Riu. The project has a base tender budget of €4,596,304.79 and an estimated execution period of eighteen months. The initiative aims to address the growing spatial needs of the school while adapting its facilities to current educational and functional requirements.

The project includes the construction of a new building that will be connected to the existing primary school structure. Both areas will be linked through an internal passageway designed to ensure continuity and integration between the existing facilities and the new extension. In addition, exterior ramps will be installed to improve accessibility from the schoolyard to the new building and to the connecting corridor.

Educació launches tender for expansion works at CEIP Sant Carles in Santa Eulària des Riu

The new infrastructure will provide additional spaces designed to support modern educational activities and services. On the ground floor, the project plans to include a gymnasium, school dining hall, kitchen, library, sanitary facilities and various technical and storage areas. The first floor will accommodate four classrooms, a small-group learning room, two multipurpose classrooms, a multipurpose hall and the corresponding service areas.

At the same time, refurbishment works will be carried out within the existing building to improve the organisation of internal spaces. The ground floor will be reorganised to include new administrative areas such as the head office, secretary’s office and administrative workspace. On the upper floor, the teachers’ room will be relocated, and additional classrooms for small-group learning activities will be created.

Through this tender process, the Department of Education and Universities reinforces its commitment to strengthening and modernizing educational infrastructure across the Balearic Islands. The expansion of CEIP Sant Carles is expected to provide improved learning environments and ensure that the school can meet present and future educational needs.
