The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, held an institutional meeting with approximately 140 members of the two main Balearic associations in Puerto Rico: the Casa Balear de Puerto Rico and the Asociación Baleares en Puerto Rico. Together, these organizations represent around 500 members and play a vital role in preserving and promoting Balearic culture abroad.

Margalida Prohens Meets Balearic Associations in Puerto Rico to Strengthen Institutional and Cultural Ties
During the meeting, the president emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening historical, cultural, and social ties between the Balearic Islands and their community in Puerto Rico. She highlighted the regional government’s commitment to supporting Balearic citizens living outside the islands and acknowledged the valuable work carried out by these associations in fostering cultural identity and community cohesion.
As part of the institutional visit, Margalida Prohens presented an official flag of the Balearic Islands to each association, symbolizing unity and continued support. This gesture reinforces the international presence of the Balearic Islands and strengthens connections with its diaspora community.
