23 positives among teachers in the Balearic Islands

421 students with positive PCR in all the islands

77 groups in quarantine in 52 educational centres of the Balearic Islands

Most of the positive and quarantined students are from kindergarten and primary schools.

The data collected until last Friday, December 3rd in the educational centres of the Balearic Islands by EDUCOVID (specific unit of Health destined to follow the cases in the educational environment) show that the number of contagions in the educational centres continues to below.

In the week of reference, 23 positive cases were reported among teachers in the Balearic Islands, which represents 0.11% of teachers in the Balearic Islands (20 the previous week).

Of the total number of students in the Balearic Islands, around 213 thousand, 421 students have been notified with positive PCR (236 the previous week), a figure that represents 0.19% of the student body. Of this total, 365 in Mallorca (212 the previous week), 22 in Menorca (3 the previous week), 33 in Ibiza (21 the previous week) and 1 in Formentera (0 the previous week). Most of these students are positive due to contact outside the educational center, since the contact studies carried out in the centers are mostly negative.

There are 111 groups in quarantine this week (88 the previous week) which represents 1.22% of the 9,043 groups of the Balearic Islands. By islands, on December 3rd there were 89 groups in quarantine in Mallorca, 5 in Menorca, 16 in Ibiza and 1 in Formentera. It should be noted that the increase in the incidence of cases causes some delay in the uploading of data. It will be updated in the next communications.

In total there are 66 schools (58 last week), of which 52 in Mallorca (48 last week), 4 in Menorca (4 last week), 9 in Ibiza (6 last week) and 1 in Formentera (0 last week).

It is advisable to be extremely cautious and to maintain all prevention measures in schools.
