“In recent years we have prioritised investments in the water cycle to improve the municipal network. With this project, we are taking another step towards optimising the service and being able to carry out more efficient management of such a scarce and vital resource as water,” explains the mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno.
Therefore, the aim of this project is the installation of new pipes on the edge and the roadway to sectorise the drinking water network. Specifically, the installation of new sector meters is planned, replacing different sections of the transport pipe, eliminating the rigging of this pipe and installing new pipes to close the rings. In this way, it is possible to separate the portable water transport network from the distribution network in households.
The action has been divided into 16 sectors in the following areas: Canonge Alzina – Verge de l’Esperança, Germanies – Plaça de toros, Terrers – Felip II, Fernández Cela, Mestre Torrandell, Muntanyeta, San Bartomeu, Jaume Armengol – Estrella, Canonge Payeras – Sant Miquel, Valella, Barco – Plaça Mallorca, Glòria, Ramon i Cajal, So na Monda – Formentor, habitatges dels Mestres and the old quarter.
In this regard, it should be remembered that the Inca Town Council is gradually installing smart meters that make it possible to control the consumption of drinking water in the municipality. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out this action and continue working on the improvement and sectorisation of the network. In short, Inca Town Council seeks to increase the performance of the network and minimise losses and the effects of possible breakdowns, while promoting greater control and more efficient consumption.
