To this end, Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera will be present at Fitur with a 1,000 m2 stand coordinated by the Regional Ministry of Economic Models, Tourism and Employment, through the Tourism Strategy Agency (AETIB).
The stand is an adaptation of the one used at last year’s fair, which won the prize for the best stand in the Autonomous Community category, as well as the prize for the most sustainable stand. The space, inspired by the Mediterranean, is fully adapted to all Covid-19 safety protocols in order to guarantee a safe environment for all visitors and staff.
It is a safe stand because it has everything necessary to carry out the trade fair activity in complete safety: there will be a single entrance, indicative signs marking the routes, capacity control systems, air purifiers in the meeting rooms, as well as other anti-vid measures such as gel dispensers, partition screens, etc.
It will also be a sustainable stand, accessible for people with hearing and/or visual disabilities, in which different measures have been introduced to reduce the impact during the design, transport and construction of the stand as well as during the development of the fair.
And it will be a hybrid stand because it will complement the digital and on-site content, facilitating real-time communication for those who cannot attend the fair, with all the necessary mechanisms to develop live streaming through the Balearic Islands tourism channel on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI271mywBDXcuVVzu0Pcg9Q.
The Balearic Islands stand at Fitur will have its own stand with the island councils of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, as well as various local councils and private co-exhibitors (Grupo Eulen, Iberostar Hotels&Resorts, Inetum, Roig Drive Mallorca and Puro Group Europe). There will also be three radio booths from which different local radio stations will broadcast live during these days.
The AETIB has also set up a table reservation system at the stand so that the sector can hold work meetings at the fair in an organised manner. This system has been communicated in advance to tourism companies so that they can use it to schedule their appointments.
During the days of the fair, different presentations will be held.
presentations. On Wednesday 19 January, at 12.00 noon, the President of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, together with the Regional Minister for Economic Model, Tourism and Employment, Iago Negueruela, will present “The tourism of the future. Strategy and policies for achieving the sustainable development objectives”. And on Thursday 20 January, at 11:00 am, the island councils of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera will present their main tourism innovations for the year 2022.
Coinciding with the Balearic Islands’ presence at Fitur, the Ministry of Economic Models, Tourism and Employment, through the AETIB, will be launching a nationwide advertising campaign to reinforce the goal of promoting a new tourism model for the Balearic Islands and encouraging the influx of domestic tourists to the islands. Under the slogan “Illes Balears, the tourism of the future”, the Balearic Islands’ stand at Fitur will have different advertising panels displaying this new campaign.
Also as part of Fitur, environmental education workshops for adults and children will be held over the weekend.
