In the Balearic Islands, there is a target population of 160,995 people between 18 and 39 years of age without a booster dose.
The Health Service will today open the vaccination to the population over 18 years so that they can receive the booster dose against COVID-19. From 3 p.m. onwards, the self-appointment service www.ibsalut.es/es/cita-para-la-vacunacion-contra-la-covid-19 will provide appointments for the entire population over the age of 18 pending the booster dose, as determined by the Ministry of Health’s National Vaccination Strategy.
In the Balearic Islands, there is a target population of 160,995 people between the ages of 18 and 39 who have not received a booster dose. Of these, 122,856 are from Mallorca, 14,072 from Menorca, 22,495 from Ibiza and 1,572 from Formentera.
The conditions that must be met in order to receive the booster dose are to be over 18 years of age, to have received the full COVID-19 vaccination schedule and that at least five months have passed since the last dose in the case of Pfizer or Moderna, or three months in the case of Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) or Janssen. In addition, people who have passed the infection have to wait four weeks before they can be vaccinated with the booster dose.

The Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs recalls that vaccination is safe and effective in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, according to scientific evidence.
To date, the booster vaccination campaign has already vaccinated 54.4% of the target population. Currently, the vaccination coverage of children over 5 years of age is 86%. 26.49% of children between 5 and 11 years of age have already received the vaccine.
